Traveling Between the Croatia and the Dalmatia Islands

Croatia, a country in southern Europe is known for its diverse landscape and idyllic islands and parks. Tourism in this beautiful paradise on earth attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. It’s no wonder that Croatia is referred to as “land of 1000 islands”.

Split, Croatia divides into two parts, the old part is Dubrovnik and Pula. By road, easily reachable by bus and car from Split to Pula, the city offers well-maintained roads and boat trips for taking a look at some of the most popular tourist attractions. The most notable monument of the city is the spectacular network of ancient stone waterfalls. Just north of Split is the historical city of Split, which has been one of the world’s oldest city. Here you can see fantastic medieval architecture, many churches and monasteries and beautiful art galleries.

From Split head southwest towards Dalmatia and from there you have three options. You can travel by road, by train or by sea. Cruise liners operate regularly to the Dalmatian islands. Ferries also leave from the Dalmatian port. These are the main Dalmatian tourist attractions and you will find plenty of cheap hotels, restaurants and bars as you make your way along the beaches. On the beaches you will find excellent sandy white sand with turquoise blue waters and white sand bars and eateries.

From Split travel southwards and you will pass through three UNESCO world heritage sites. These include the Hellenistic ruins of Acqua del Arco (Druidna), the Roman settlement of Gjorgeje and the marina national park. The last historical Roman camp site is situated on the bay of Varnoja. From Varnoja head south along the coast to Toureta and then turn left and travel up the coast to the historic city of Dubrovnik.

At the end of your journey, you will find the highly recognizable Juneau arch. The Juneau arch is made of stone and was built by the French in 18ayed around the year 1830. When you arrive at Juneau the best transportation option will be a cruise ship. This is because a cruise liner offers excellent service with great amenities including luxurious accommodation and cuisine.

If you have your own car, then it is also possible to travel from Split by auto. The best way to travel from Split to Juneau is by car, but if you don’t want to pay for a vehicle rental, then there are inexpensive rental cars available at the Hyatt Regency Juneau. If you rent a car, then it is best to let the hotel know so they can arrange the best way to get you to the ferry one way or another.

One of the main activities in Juneau is the historic old town. Split is a historical tourist destination, known worldwide for its rich history, culture, and artwork. The old town is located on the shore between the Gulf of Willows and the Arctic Ocean. The main tourist attraction here is the modern museum, which is also home to numerous art galleries and exhibitions.

Dalmatia is another popular destination between Split and Juneau. It is known as being the second most industrialized country in the Croatian archipelago after Split itself. The old city of Pula, which is built on a peninsula on the northern part of Dalmatia, is a World Heritage site. There are many different tourist destinations to choose from along the Dalmatian coast, including beaches, old towns, national parks, etc. You can choose a vacation based tour that takes you through the popular tourist destinations and allows you to see the region in all its glory.
