Welcome to the marvelous heart of Bavaria, Munich! This glorious city is the third largest city and the capital of Bavaria. It’s famous for its imposing and gorgeous historic buildings, huge gardens and the yearly famous beer festival, Oktoberfest! It also boasts of some of the finest restaurants and bars in the world. Munich is definitely a city you shouldn’t miss when you get close to Germany!
The incredible architectural designs and awe-inspiring facades are sure to draw tourists to Munich. Once, it was the capital of Bavaria but since World War II, it has become part of Germany and is part of the German Democratic republic. The city’s name came from an old Norman Saxon phrase. From the first century, the city was built of wood. Today, many of its buildings have been rebuilt or repaired from time to time. And, as if that wasn’t enough, the city also offers plenty of beautiful gardens to wander around in and lovely bars to enjoy your leisure time.
Munich is relatively well-connected with most other parts of Germany. Public transportation, including the airport and train station, is a great option for tourists visiting Germany. Taxis in many cities along the Ring der Moselle route are reasonably priced and easy means of travel throughout the city. Buses, on the other hand, make for a quick and easy way of traveling between various destinations. However, there is a large variety of options for tourists looking for an inexpensive mode of transportation to take them around Munich. Tourists can opt for cars, motorbikes and even buses or trains depending on their budget.
Germany is a big country, so there are a wide variety of food choices available when you venture to Munich. The majority of restaurants here offer a variety of traditional dishes as well as some modern German fare. As with everywhere else, you can go to Munich and get something that will tantalize your taste buds or leave you craving for more. One of the great options for cheap meals and inexpensive foods that won’t go wrong is to go out to one of the many restaurants in the city for lunch or dinner.
You will find a number of authentic bistros and pubs in the old town area. Some of the more popular ones include the Bavarian Inn (brimming with authentic Bavarian and western cuisine), the Bergh of St Reinhold, the Bavarian Inn II, the Restaurant Bon Voyageur and the Bergh of Margret. There are also a number of fast food chains and international restaurants in the city. For example, you can get gourmet meals at such places as Hause to Die, Bistro Moustache and Temptations, just to name a few.
When you venture to Munich, you are going to encounter an impressive sightseeing experience. Of course, the most obvious sightseeing destinations are the magnificent churches and cathedrals. Munich is known for having some of the finest churches in the entire world. These include the famous cathedral of Munich, which is huge and requires massive numbers of people to enter. In addition, the main square in the city, the Marienplatz, is also home to some of the most beautiful and dramatic churches.
A lot of travelers come to Munich for the large variety of sightseeing locations that are located there. One of the most famous sights that you will be able to see while in Munich is the huge Christmas Tree that is placed on top of the largest fountain in the world. This fountain, called the Kohler, is made from the same material as the Golden Mountain. It has a glass roof and is visible from miles away. Other sights in Munich include the Brandenburg Gate, the Marble Hall, the Astronomical Clock, the Bavarian State Opera, and a large variety of bars and restaurants.
If you plan to travel to Munich with your family, it would be best if you look into renting a villa instead of a hotel. Many travelers often rent villas in Munich and use them as holiday homes while they are in Germany and beyond. There is a large variety of different villas that you can rent, including those that have swimming pools, beaches, and more. With so much to do and see, I highly recommend visiting the Olympic Park and taking in some of the sights that it has to offer.
